The Kindness Rock project

IMG_0292.JPGOur new wilderness activity this year is off to an amazing start! Their first project of the summer is the Kindness Rocks Project. One of our administrators, Lorin was inspired when she found a kindness rock. She thouIMG_0300ght it would be a fantastic addition to one of our summer activities, and was right! Our campers have loved it, and we are excited to spread their kindness Rocks all around South Florida.

The Kindness Rocks Project was originally created by Megan Murphy. It was started, “to spread inspiration and motivation for unsuspecting recipients through random  inspirational rocks dropped along the way. Now more than ever kindness can become a connecting force for good during uncertain times. Many people, including myself, are feeling a sense of overwhelm, unease and restlessness due to the current events taking place in our world today, and I believe that our united strength can be cultivated through simple random acts of kindness. Each of us can make a positive difference. Together we can make a positive IMPACT!”

The goals with the Kindness Rocks Project are two fold:

be kind
Goal# 1– Inspire others through randomly placed rocks along the way!
Goal #2– recruit every person who stumbles upon it to join in the pursuit of inspiring others through random acts of kindness!

As our campers participate in this inspirational activity, we discuss how important it is to show kindness, and how even a little rock can go a long way to make someone smile! Our administrators will be hiding them all throughout the tri-county area! If you find one, we hope it brings you JOY! Post a picture of it on our Facebook page  or post on instagram and tag @pinecrestdaycamp #pcdcsummer #pcdcrocks. We are excited to see all the smiles we can create! Check out some of our campers and their rocks!
