Today we celebrate a day that should be celebrated every day! National Random Acts of Kindness Day. Spreading kindness to people around us can truly change someone’s day and attitude! Just a little positive boost, a small compliment or gesture can go a long way. During the summer at Pine Crest Day Camp we foster a true appreciation for our campers and counselors each day. We go the extra mile to wish them a happy birthday throughout the year and keep in touch! We found this great article written by Jen Walshaw called, 110 Summer acts of kindness for kids and we loved it so much we wanted to share!! There are so many ways listed that you can spread kindness with your kids all summer and year round! There are also pages that you can printout, cut out and put in a “kindness basket” encouraging your family to partake in random acts of kindness on a regular basis. Check out the printable here. Some ideas include: Donate to the local food bank, Leave change in the vending machine, Sort through your toys and donate any that you no longer play with to charity or your local church, Leave chalk messages around where you live, Write a letter to your sibling telling them why you love them and much more! Little acts of kindness go a long way!
